About
Laura Krantz
Journalist, editor and producer, in both audio and print.
Laura Krantz is the creator and host of Wild Thing, a narrative podcast about the topics people obsess over — Bigfoot, aliens, nuclear power — and what science can and can’t tell us about them. The show has been downloaded 5 million times, hit #7 on Apple Podcasts, and was named one of The Atlantic’s 50 best podcasts in 2018 and 2020.
Wild Thing became a series of nonfiction books for young readers from ABRAMS: The Search for Sasquatch, Is There Anybody Out There? and Do You Believe in Magic?
She is a co-founder of Foxtopus Ink, where she reports, edits and produces narrative series, including Blood Vines (Wondery), The Syndicate (Imperative Entertainment) and Master Plan (The Lever). Before that she spent a decade as an editor and producer at NPR in Washington, D.C., and KPCC in Los Angeles. Her writing has appeared in Popular Science, Smithsonian, Outside, High Country News, Newsweek and — her personal favorite — the Archie McPhee catalog.
An Idaho native, she was a Ted Scripps Fellow in Environmental Journalism at the University of Colorado Boulder and studied at Whitman College and Johns Hopkins SAIS. She lives in Denver.
